Kraemer Trucking & Excavating is a family-owned and operated company that’s been delivering exceptional service and value to our clients and customers since 1938.
Just meeting expectations has never been our goal – from day one, we’ve worked hard to set the bar high in our industry. Our crew strives to find smarter ways to work every day so that we can improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness and help our clients build better projects.
We know that what has kept us successful for more than eight decades are the great relationships we’ve built in Cold Spring and central Minnesota. Many of our clients are also our neighbors, local business owners, and friends, so the work we do matters as much to us as it does to you. Let’s build something great together.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN...
1938 - 1968
In 1938, Albert Kraemer established Kraemer Drayline and began trucking products all around the Cold Spring area. From coal and dry goods to sand and gravel and more, Albert delivered quality service to residential and commercial customers, including the Burlington Northern Railroad.
1969 - 2004
In 1969, Albert’s son Jim Kraemer purchased a brand new Massey Ferguson backhoe and Kraemer Trucking & Excavating was born. The Kraemer family was now able to offer complete site excavation services to central Minnesota residents and farmers. In 1970, Albert sold the family businesses to Jim. In 2004, another service was added to the company’s offerings with Kraemer Aggregate.
2005 - PRESENT
In 2007, Jim’s sons Chad and Jeff Kraemer became the third generation to own the family business, and they continued to expand KTE’s capabilities and reach. After Chad’s passing in 2017, Jeff took on full ownership of KTE. Today, we offer excavation and site work, heavy haul trucking, aggregates, and custom crushing services to residential, commercial, and municipal clients across central Minnesota.
Giving back to our community is part of the job.
Kraemer Trucking and Excavating is honored to serve the ROCORI area and support our community whenever possible. We’re proud sponsors of the Firefest music festival each year, which raises funding to support Cold Spring Fire & Rescue.
Donations that benefit schools and kids are also very important to us, and that's why we've been instrumental in the building of the ROCORI/Blattner stadium and Alexander splash pad.
We believe that giving back to the community that helped build KTE is extremely important.
